artvamp @ : Artvamp is casting for the upcoming Bobby Conn rock opera: King For a Day
CASTING CALL: BOBBY CONN ROCK OPERA
Title: King For a Day
Production Company: Artvamp
Director: Usama Alshaibi
Location: West Loop Chicago
Audition Dates: August 26 and 27
Pay: No Pay
King for a Day is a farcical rock opera that takes the viewer on a journey from overblown ego to destitute has-been. Somewhere in the mind of Bobby Conn there is a better place – the utopia called Sugar Mountain. But how can he reach it if he’s constantly being pulled between rock super stardom and mundanity? Will his delusions be the death of him?
From posh Paris hotel rooms to dank basement shows, and from meditating in peaceful temples to huddling inside a cardboard shack – we transverse the terrain of Bobby’s self-perceptions. Along the way we meet prophets, seekers, fans, friends, fairies and even a dancing bear.
Dancers: nude and semi-nude male and female dancers (professional or amateur) for a sexually ambiguous opening number (must be comfortable with male on male sensuality)
Audience: all varieties of Bobby Conn fans for "live" stage performance scenes
Sarah: a 21 year old female artist looking for affection and adventure.
Pilots: Two professional-looking 40-something men who fly an invisible airplane with a straight face.
Gay boys with foot fetishes: Two attractive and flamboyantly costumed gay boys who are into shrimping.
Dolly: A rough looking, but fit, female cutter with many scars
E-mail your photo and details and/or web page to Director, Usama Alshaibi at firstname.lastname@example.org
